When I first found out about my husbands affair, I was so lost, and I felt so totally alone. It wasn't till about a year and a half after D-Day that I finally turned to God. I wasn't getting any better and my marriage wasn't getting any better either. I wanted a daily devotional to help me through what I was struggling with. I search the Internet for hours but couldn't find a single daily devotional for those suffering from their spouse's affair.

I mean really, if this effects close to 60% or more of marriages wouldn't you think there would be a daily devotional on it? It's such a devastating event in ones life but nothing. There are ones for grief, divorce, for couples, for marriage, but nothing specifically for infidelity!

After searching for a few months I started to get thoughts of writing them myself. I knew that there were people out there suffering and would love something like this but I"m not a writer. In fact, I HATE to write. I feel like I can't and I feel like what I have to say others really don't want to read. I struggled with the thought of I should write a devotional and telling myself that I couldn't for 2 years!

I feel it was God telling me that I should write this and I was telling Him "NO" for 2 years! I wrote a friend and asked if she knew of any daily devotional for those suffering from their spouse's infidelity and she didn't know of any either. She said she would try and write some herself, but she was so busy with her work that she just didn't have the time.

Finally at the end of August 2008 I started writing them myself. I had no idea how hard it was going to be! I did about 7 and I had no idea where to go from there. I felt I had covered everything! But, I kept at it! Now it's almost a year later and I'm half done with the book. I have 90 daily devotions done and when I get to 180 I will be publishing them as a book.

My goal is the have them done and published by this fall. I am calling them "Godly Whispers" and I have the first two months available as daily emails if you like. Just know that you are not alone in this journey, and I am more than willing to help anyone who is hurting and needs someone to talk to!

It can be difficult to be a woman in the dating arena. A lot of things can go wrong for you more than it can for your male counterpart. Plus, men can be really dense about a few things. Well, no worries. Here are a few tips on what to do and not to do during a date:

1) Timing is important - Timing as in 'on time.' No matter what they say, there is no such thing as 'fashionably late.' For the first date, this can give the guy jitters and make him think that you've stood him up. For the later dates, having him wait for you in the living room for half an hour with either your roommate, your sister or, worse, your father is not something you want him to do - whether it be for the embarrassing stories or Dad's 'eyes of doom'.

2) Keep your head on straight - Yes, we all know dates are supposed to be fun, but knowing what's going on is important both for your own safety and for you love life. Is your date acting suspicious or just nervous? Maybe you'd want to end the date early or do something to calm him down. Is he taking notice of what you're wearing or just ogling? The choice to either wink at him or just stare knowingly is up to you. Is his attention on you or the girl next to you? You might wish to reward him with a smile or a slap. Situational awareness is not just for soldiers on the front but also for young women on the prowl.

3) Be nice - Have a positive attitude, find things that you like and tell him. Compliment him about his clothes, how he looks and how well the date is going. It puts him at ease and also makes him feel important. It also shows him that you're taking notice of him and you appreciate him. But, don't lie. Like I said, look at the bright side of things - the service of the restaurant may have been slow but the ambience was terrific. Try making it into a habit, you aren't lying - you're just being diplomatic!

4) Do not complain - This may be technically part of tip three, but it deserves a separate heading. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't tell him that something is wrong or something makes you uncomfortable. The way you phrase it and the tone you use is important here. 'Venting,' like we do with our girl friends, is not going to go over well with him since he'll probably misinterpret it. Grin and bear it then tell him after the date in calm, reasoned tones your problem. Trust me, he'll understand, and he'll try to make it up to you.

5) Enjoy the date - A date is a chance to get to know each other and to enjoy yourselves. Have fun during the date. Try not to be hyper-critical and just take things in stride. If you're not having fun, your date will notice and, trust me, he will get nervous which will probably start ruining the experience for both of you. Also, just let your guard down for a little while. Let him see the real you. He may or may not like it, but in the end he will appreciate the honesty of the act. Besides, if he doesn't like you for you, why should you keep on dating?

6) Afterwards, show interest - If you really like the guy, waiting for the call after a successful date is nerve-wracking. You know he's interested, and you're definitely interested, you're just waiting for him to call you, so you could arrange another date. Try giving him a day or two. He usually has to get his act together and work up the courage to call. If he doesn't call, he's probably still tongue-tied from being in your presence. Call him up to say hello. Talk about the date and how you had fun and give hints. No matter how dense he will pick up on it, and he'll probably be asking you for another date!

7) Be consistent - For those who've crossed the 'First Date' Rubicon, try maintaining the impression you made on him on that first date. Men don't like surprises except, of course, if they plan them. This doesn't mean, however, that you'll just give him the first date you. Talk to each other, both on and off dates, to get to know each other more. What he got on the first date was a sneak peek, what he should get from your continued dating should be the entire reel.

Worst Date Ever

Dating can be filled with dangers that you may never have thought existed before. Not everyone is prepared to go out on a date for the first time as they may think. You have to give yourself a chance to get out there and find the one person that is going to laugh when things go south. You are going to say something or do something extremely stupid at some point in the night. That is a given fact and you just have to work around it and make the best out of a bad situation. If the person you are with is able to laugh things off and still have a great time, then maybe you have a chance at true happiness. Besides, just because you are having a bad night doesn’t mean that your date is having one. This could be a blessing in disguise for you and your date if everything works out for the best even after a really bad night.

Now, that is some really dark stuff and I am not recommending to anyone to take someone back if the relationship was abusive…I am using it as a point that almost NO SITUATION is unsalvageable…

Seriously, Doesn’t that make sense? That if most of us can think of couples that have gotten back together…under even some horrible circumstances…that there could be somehidden recipe, or secret even, to reigniting passion and recapturing lost love?

Now…I am not saying they were holding some “secret love spell” book and doing weird chants…not at all…at the same time somehow, by MOSTLY accident they said and did the RIGHT THINGS at the RIGHT TIME…and won back the heart of their lover…or at least created the circumstances where their ex gave them a second chance.

Allow me to repeat…they did this by mostly ACCIDENT!

Imagine…

What if? What they said…and what they did…could be “bottled” so to speak? And then you could “unbottle” it and put it to use? To erase old hurts…to reignite passion again…to turn back to a time when your relationship was fresh, new and exciting.

Yes…A Magic Love Recipe…in a sense…

You see there IS a “recipe for love” as well as a recipe for winning back and keeping some ones interest, desire, passion, heart and love…

What they did by “accident” can be repeated over and over on PURPOSE!

And you know what?

If I were you…I would be somewhat skeptical right now…that’s totally fine! I am going to show you some concrete proof. Just bear with me okay?

Anyway…I got a ton of practice keeping relationships together…and putting them back together after they had come apart…because the divorce rate for military couples is MUCH HIGHER than average.

WARNING: Unconventional Methods!

At this point, I must WARN YOU…STRONGLY WARN YOU…my advice and methods are VERY unconventional. I get relationship counselors and the like REALLY ANGRY because they are charging $50 to $100 an hour (sometimes for months and even years) and I can whisper just one of my methods in my friends ear…he DOES IT… And next thing you know… he’s back home, laying back on the couch and watching HOUSE with his fiance on Monday nights.

Now you are free to make up your own mind about me. I just don’t believe that any amount of sitting in a classroom can make up for the REAL WORLD experience that I have under my belt…

I mean, what’s a more valuable experience?…Listening to a lecture on libido? Or BEING THERE when my buddy’s girlfriend is chucking his clothes and skivvies out the bedroom window because she thinks he was with some tart the night before?

I don’t know about you, my money is on the guy with the real world experience any day.

Thank you so much for your help, your ideas really managed to open my eyes and to see you from another perspective!!i never used to think of it that way. I have learned a lot about myself too, and i now know how to speak to him whilst keeping in control of the situation at the same time. My ex and i had a long distance relationship and he is flying over to see me here in England to try and sort all this mess out!
